Dead DPS means you might not meet the checks or face enrage. Dead tanks mean the boss might roam around killing the rest of the group. Your heals are heals for everyone, not additional personal defensive cooldowns that allow you to take more damage. Pay attention to the amount of damage going out at different points throughout the fight, these will help you assess urgency which will in turn inform how much Force you need, when you can DPS, and who is most likely to need healing.ĭo not put yourself in some sort of special category that is more deserving of healing. Who is the person most likely to die at this moment? Out of the heals that are off cooldown right now, which will be sufficiently effective in protecting this player? If everyone seems particularly healthy, do I have enough Force? If my energy is fine, what is the highest damaging ability I can use right now? Assume no other healers exist and you are solely responsible for the lives of your fellow team members. GEARING AND STATS PRIORITIES Healing Mindset In terms of AoE healing, sorcs are a bit weak mercs have stronger numbers overall and while they can keep up with Operatives for short periods of time, they do eventually run out of Force and have to dedicate a bunch of GCDs to Force management. The biggest challenge with sustained off-DPS for sorc healers is making sure that you have enough Force for when you need to return to healing since you can’t refill your resource instantly like mercs and ops can. Sorc healers also have a unique capacity to do a fair bit of their damage while simultaneously healing thanks to the Storm’s Succor tactical and Lightning Barrier. Their abilities don’t do as much damage as mercenary healers, but they don’t have to worry about getting into melee range like an operative healer does. Off-DPS-wise, sorc healers are in the middle of the road. Corruption Sorcerers can quickly navigate the battlefield with extreme precision thanks to Phase Walk and Force Speed, and they don’t have to give up a GCD to activate one of their movement abilities either, which allows them to continue healing while moving. All of this really gives you a lot of flexibility on what you can use in the moment, which allows you to focus more on triage (determining who is most in need of healing), which is really the core of the healer role. It also doesn’t matter a whole lot which order you do your abilities in, you just have some abilities that you need to do on cooldown. You can’t really fall behind on a sorc healer like you can on an operative or, to a lesser extent, a mercenary and managing your Force is a lot less punishing than managing Heat or Energy.
Welcome to my 6.1 guide to Corruption Sorcerer! In my opinion, the sorc healer is the easiest healer spec to learn and play since they are the least rotational of the three healer specs. How is the Class and Spec changing with SWTOR 7.0.
